Frequently asked questions
Pricing & plans
Why isn't Passbook free like other finance apps?
Most "free" apps have to make money somehow. Usually, they do this by upselling you other investment services or cross-selling things like credit cards and loans. Some even monetize your personal data. We built Passbook differently. By design, the app is local-first. This means we never see or store your financial data on our servers. Since we physically cannot see your data, there is no way for us to monetize it. By charging for the software, we keep our interests aligned with yours. You pay for a tool that works for you, and we focus entirely on making that tool better.
What happens after my free trial ends?
Your data belongs to you, so you will never be locked out of it. After the trial, you can still open Passbook on your desktop or the web to view your investments and records. However, you will not be able to add new data or edit existing entries until you choose a plan.
What if I buy it and realize it's not for me?
We offer a 30-day, no-questions-asked refund policy. If Passbook doesn't fit your needs, just let us know within the first month of your purchase. We will refund your payment in full. It is as simple as that.
Can I manage my family's investments under one plan?
Yes. Whether you are tracking just your own portfolio or managing investments for your spouse and parents, everything is included in the single price. We do not charge extra for multiple accounts or the complexity of your family's finances.
How does the Lifetime plan work?
The Lifetime plan is a one-time payment that gives you access to Passbook and all future updates forever. There are no recurring fees or renewals. Since financial planning is a journey that spans decades, this is a popular choice for users who want a permanent, private home for their family's wealth data.
